By: Rich Hosford

Runners from around the world came to Massachusetts on Patriots Day for the 119th Boston Marathon.

The event took place on Monday, April 20. The men’s race was won by Lelisa Desisa from Ethiopia who finished the 26-mile and 385-yard course with a time of 2:09:17. The women’s race was won by Caroline Rotich of Kenya with a time of 2:24:55.
