Second Parish Minutemen Seeks New Recruits

Are you interested in the history of the Revolutionary War? Do you enjoy participating in community events like parades and town fairs? This could be just what you’re looking for.

The Second Parish Minutemen Company 1732 of Burlington is seeking new members to participate in parades, musters and re-enactments throughout New England.

No prior experience is needed and a strong interest in Revolutionary War history is the only requirement. Instruction will be provided in obtaining authentic period clothing and other equipment needed for each member’s role, which might include fife, drum, musket, flag, or 18th century camping gear.

“Get involved now to prepare for upcoming Patriots’ Day and Memorial Day activities,” the release states.

The group commemorates the Second Parish Minutemen from the western side of Woburn, which later became Burlington. Woburn’s Second Parish is now the United Church of Christ, Congregational on the corner of Lexington and Bedford Streets in Burlington.
