Ten Burlington Residents Finish Boston Marathon

By: BNEWS Weekly

This past Monday saw the 118th running of the Boston Marathon.  It was a fantastic day for the weather, the runners and the cheering crowds in a much anticipated race that became a national symbol of resiliency and determination.  In one of the most closely watched Boston Marathons, Meb Keflezighi, the first American man to win the Boston Marathon since 1983 crossed the finish line triumphantly in a pair of Skechers.  The first place woman, Rita Jeptoo, crossed with a record time for the course.

Burlington was well represented at the race with 10 residents proudly crossing the finish line.  Here’s a look at their names and finishing times.

The entire route was safe and free of incident.  Some said it may have been the safest place in America as runner from near and far took back the Boston Marathon Finish Line.
