Two BHS Wrestler Take First Place in Weight Divisions in Prestigious Tournament

Two Burlington High School wrestlers, who also happen to be brothers, fought their way to the top spots in their weight classes in a prestigious tournament this week.

Senior Tommy (138 pounds) and sophomore Josh (126 pounds) Lee earned first place finishes at the annual George Bossi Lowell Holiday Wrestling Tournament that took place on Monday and Tuesday. The two-day tournament, called by some the “The High School Midlands of the Northeast” had 690 wrestler from 72 who came from all over New England.

According to Jack Sherman, who organizes BCAT’s television coverage of BHS Wrestling’s matches, the last time Burlington had a champion at this tournament was in 2009 when Jake Sherman won at 125 pounds, and Kevin Barrucci at 145. Kevin Barrucci was the only Burlington wrestler to win this tournament twice, in 2008 and 2009.
