U.S. Politics, How Did We Get Here? A Burlington Historical Society Program

The following is a release from the Burlington Historical Society:

David E. Kaiser, a noted American historian will give a most interesting presentation on Thursday, May 5.  Mr. Kaiser draws on the past to examine the present.  His insights impact understanding of the current national political race.  How did we get where we are today?

The presentation is called "From the American Revolution to the Election of 2016:  Four Great Crisis in American National Life.”

David Kaiser was a Professor in the Strategy and Policy Department of the United States War College from 1990 until 2012.  He has taught at Carnegie-Mellon, Williams College, and Harvard University.  He received his PhD from Harvard  in 1976.

His list of published works is long.  We are fortunate to have Mr. Kaiser at the Historical Society meeting on Thursday, May 5 at The Human Service Center, 61 Center Street.  Doors open at 6:30 and all are welcome.  You do not need to be a member to witness this presentation.  Our meetings are on the first floor in the Murray-Kelly Wing and are handicap accessible.
