Board of Health Holding Rabies Vaccination Clinic

By: Rich Hosford

Pet owners, get your four-legged friends vaccinated against rabies and protect both their health and your and your family’s health.

The Burlington Board of Health is holding a rabies vaccination clinic from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 21, at the Department of Public Works Highway Barn on Meadow Road.

Anyone can bring in their pets, it is not only open to Burlington residents. Cats must be in carriers and dogs must be on leashes. The board asks that owners bring a proof of the pet’s last vaccination if available.

The cost is $15 per animal for a one-year vaccination and $20 for a three-year vaccination. They can only accept cash.

Representatives from the Burlington Town Clerk's office will also be in attendance to issue or renew dog licenses. To get a license the owner must have proof of the dog’s last rabies vaccination.

A one-year dog license is $15 and a three-year license is $35. The Clerk’s office can accept cash or checks for the licenses.

For more information on dog licenses call the Clerk's office at 781-270-1660.

The clinic is sponsored by the Burlington Board of Health and Dr. Sarfraz A. Mian, DVM, Merrimack Animal Hospital, 151 Stedman St., Lowell.
