Burlington Area Chamber of Commerce Announces New President
By: Rich Hosford
The Burlington Area Chamber of Commerce is now under new leadership.
The Board of Directors of the BACC announced Rick Parker as the new President at its annual meeting on October 3rd, a release states. Former President Jim Murphy will become the President of the BACC’s Charitable Foundation and will continue to assist with the BACC’s Government Affairs program.
According to the release, in 2014, the BACC created its Charitable Foundation to better serve the Chamber’s many philanthropic causes and to establish separate and distinct organizations. The Chamber’s growth under Jim Murphy’s direction warranted additional resources to manage both the Chamber and the newly formed Charitable Foundation.
“The Chamber has developed into a strong, benevolent, and influential organization matching Burlington’s growth and presence in the Commonwealth. Its dedication to both the business community and Burlington’s residents is commendable and will continue under its new leadership,” states Sonia Rollins, BACC Board Chairperson.
Parker said he is looking forward to working as the chamber's new president.
“As a life-long Resident, I am extremely proud to live and work in Burlington. We are very fortunate to have a strong blend of the area's leading companies, medical facilities, restaurants, and small businesses that is the envy of many communities,” he said. “As President of the Burlington Area Chamber of Commerce, I am excited about the opportunity to take the Chamber to the next level and strengthen the bond between local businesses and our community.”
