By: Rich Hosford

A group of Burlington High School students held a fundraiser to help people in Nepal affected by a recent earthquake that did tremendous damage in the country.

“The Students of Asian Cultural Awareness club raised $615.00 for the victims of the Nepal earthquakes from their very successful (and tasty) bake sale,” art teacher Christina Chang said in a blog post. “Way to pay it forward SACA Club!”

On April 25 Nepal was hit by an earthquake with a magnitude between 7.8 and 8.1 on the moment magnitude scale. The earthquake killed more than 8,800 people and injured more than 23,000. It also left hundreds of thousands of people homeless due to significant damage to buildings and homes.
