Burlington Police Say Farewell to Longtime Advocate of Domestic Violence Victims

The Burlington Police Department said goodbye to a longtime member of the team and a staunch supporter of victims of domestic violence last week.

“Today we say farewell to our domestic violence advocate Margaret Rocco,” the department posted on its Facebook page. “Margaret has worked as an advocate for victims of domestic violence for REACH, a domestic violence advocacy agency, and has been associated with the Police department for the past 10 years.”

Over the past 10 years, Rocco has helped over 2000 victims, police say. They posted a photo of a large stack of folders (see below) and said that is just part of Rocco’s work.

“The folders in this photo represent just some of victims of domestic violence that Margaret has helped,” the post states.

“We thank you, Margaret, for all of the help and dedication to the Burlington community and the many people you helped throughout the years,” police said.
