Historic Tour and Fall Foliage Walk at the Landlocked Forest

The following is a announcement from the Friends of the Landlocked Forest:

Interested in exploring Burlington’s Landlocked Forest and enjoying the beautiful New England fall foliage at the same time?

Come join us for a guided historical tour of the Landlocked Forest. We will travel on well-marked trails passing stonewalls that once separated farmer’s fields. We will walk an abandoned road that once connected Bedford and Burlington but was cut off by the construction of Route 3. Mid-October is peak foliage time for our area, so don’t miss this opportunity to see some beautiful fall colors and experience some Burlington history while getting a little exercise at the same time.

The walk will be on Sunday, October 18th. You can meet in the parking lot behind Burlington Town Hall at 1:45 pm or meet at 2 pm at the kiosk on Turning Mill Rd. in Lexington (GPS address is 42 Turning Mill Road).

The walk will be approximately 2.5 miles and will take at least 2 hours. All ages are welcome.
