Police Release Higher Quality Photos of Salem Five Bank Robbery Suspect

By: Rich Hosford

The Burlington Police Department has released new photos of the suspect in Monday's robbery of the Salem Five Bank on Cambridge Street.

The robbery was reported on Monday, Nov. 7, at approximately 1 p.m. Police learned that the suspect passed a note to the teller demanding cash. No weapon was shown. The man then fled on foot toward the Crossroads Plaza with an undetermined amount of cash.

Burlington Police and a Massachusetts State Police Special Operations K-9 unit searched the area around the Crossroad Plaza but did not find a suspect. The FBI's Bank Robbery Task Force also joined the investigation.

The suspect is described as approximately 6-feet 1-inch tall, who was wearing a green baseball cap and who has scruffy facial hair (see surveillance photo below). He was last seen heading towards the direction of Roche Brothers.

This is an active investigation and we will update this story as more information becomes available.

Police are also working to determine if the suspect is the same man seen in surveillance photos of an October 31 TD Bank robbery in Arlington and a November 5 robbery of a TD Bank in Reading

Anyone with information on this incident is urged to call the FBI Bank Robbery Task Force at 617-742-5533 or Burlington Police at 781-272-1212
