Rainy But Warm Weather Expected for Christmas Day

By: Rich Hosford

Looks like we won't be having a white Christmas.

The National Weather Service (NWS) is calling for rain, mainly before 11 a.m., on Christmas morning. It will also be foggy with temperatures around 50 degrees. The wind will be blowing at around 14 miles per hour with gusts as high as 32 mph.

Thursday night will be mostly clear and temperatures will drop to the low 30s.

The NWS has also issued a flood watch until noon on Christmas.

"A very moist airmas ahead of an approaching cold front will result in rain with locally heavy downpours," the watch states. "Rainfall of one to two inches are expected with locally up to three inches possible."

There is a chance of flooding in urban areas and places with poor drainage.

"Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop," the NWS says.
