Selectmen Grant Liquor License to Incoming 'Feng Shui' Restaurant

An incoming Asian-style restaurant opening in The District got one step closer to its goal of providing a full-service dining experience.

On Monday night the Board of Selectmen approved an all-alcohol liquor license to Feng Shui which is set to open this next spring at 2,400 District Avenue, next to the TD Bank.

Frank Zhang, one of the restaurant owners, said they offer a lunch buffet for busy office workers and a full menu for dinner. This includes hibachi tables and a sushi bar. The menu, Zhang said, has been developed over a long time based on what they have learned appeals to customers.

“We are not a national chain, we are more local and understand the taste preference of your local market,” he said. “We look forward to serving customers in Burlington.”

The Burlington establishment will be the restaurant’s fifth location.

“We may be small but we are very serious,” Zhang said. “We have worked hard to grow slowly and successfully.”

He pointed to the Chelmsford location as an example of how they like to grow in a community.

“We’re doing quite well in the community,” he said. “We have a lot of Facebook followers and loyal customers.”

Once the board members confirmed that the owner and general manager knew of Burlington’s rule of not serving more than two drinks to any customer without them ordering food they voted in favor of granting the license.

They also voted unanimously to make Charlie Chen the new Manager of Record for the restaurant.
