Snow, Sleet, Freezing Rain Possible Monday into Tuesday

By: Rich Hosford

It looks like some winter weather may finally be here.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a winter weather advisory for much of Massachusetts, including Middlesex County, that is in effect from 10 p.m. on Monday through 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

According to the advisory the area could be hit by snow, sleet and freezing rain during the timeframe indicated above. It is possible we could get between one to four inches of accumulation, including up to a quarter of an inch of ice.

Snow is expected to start around midnight and then change to sleet Tuesday morning and then switching to freezing rain during the day.

The NWS states the accumulation could cause hazardous driving conditions, especially during the Tuesday morning commute.
