When to Put Your Christmas Tree Out for Pickup

By: Rich Hosford

Christmas has come and gone now many people are wondering about what to do with that browning tree in their living rooms.

Put your Christmas tree out before all the needles fall off and it becomes a dried-out fire hazard.

Burlington residents can put their trees on the curb from Monday through Friday starting on January 11th for the annual tree pickup. The schedule follows the "yard waste" pick up, which means your tree will be collected on your original trash day, no necessarily on Thursday.

Trees must be out by 7 a.m. on your yard waste day. They need to be cleared of all decorations and not be in a bag. Any tree taller than six feet must be cut in half.
