BCAT’s Video Vacation Week 2017

Monday August 14th – Friday August 18th

Time: 2pm to 5pm

Burlington Cable Access Television (BCAT) will be holding its annual summer program “Video Vacation Week”, Monday August 14th through Friday August 18th, 2pm to 5pm.

BCAT Video Vacation Week is a FREE video program for children entering the 6th grade thru those entering the 8th grade.  The program is a fun, educational week for kids to learn about BCAT facilities and the basics of video production.  The week’s events are coordinated by BCAT Production Coordinators Tad Stephanak and John Vaies who also facilitate BCAT’s Middle School program “Video Voyagers” during the school year. Participants are taught proper use of video equipment, in-studio and on location.  Video Vacation Week encourages participants to conceive and develop ideas and teaches how to bring those ideas to life through video production.  The videos are shot over the course of the week and then edited into a half hour television program for broadcast on BCAT and BCAT’s YouTube Channel.  Participants work both behind and in front of the camera, taking turns as director, camera operator, talent, lighting and as crew.  Regular support is given to all participants with a particular interest in any of aspect of video production.

Video Vacation Week will take place at the BCAT 123 Cambridge St., Burlington, MA 01803 (entrance is located in the back of Burlington High School)
